World Youth Day 2011 will take place in Madrid, Spain from 16 to 21 August 2011. The Diocesan Youth Council meets on Saturday 06 February at Mary, Queen of the Apostles in Rosemoor, George and according to the Youth Chaplain, Fr. Dennis Ongansie C.O., the sub-committee responsible for WYD11 - Madrid, will have concrete information available regarding Diocesan participation at this event.

Registration and organisation of the Diocesan participants will be handled by the Diocesan Youth Council sub-committee. Criteria for participants are available from the Youth Department and parishes wishing to send participants are reminded that the parish is primarily responsible for sponsoring their nominees. This would imply that parishes, youth groups especially already begin fundraising efforts to cover the cost of air travel, documentation, accommodation and meals.
